Leak Repair & Repiping in Big Bear

We find the leak before we start opening walls, and we tell you plainly whether you need a repair or a repipe.

Overview

What this covers

A leak that shows up on a ceiling is almost never directly above the stain. We use pressure testing, acoustic listening and thermal inspection to isolate the source first, so that the drywall we open is the drywall that needs to come out.

If the same line has failed three times, patching it a fourth time is not a plan. Older galvanized systems and thin-wall copper in aggressive water eventually reach a point where a repipe is the cheaper answer over any reasonable horizon, and we will show you the math instead of just asserting it.

Questions

Leaks & Repiping — common questions

Shut off every fixture and appliance in the house, then watch the water meter for fifteen minutes. If the dial moves at all, water is going somewhere. That single test catches most hidden leaks.

Both are good. PEX handles freeze cycles better and installs with far less demolition, which matters in a finished cabin. Copper is more durable where lines are exposed and holds up better to UV and rodents. We often recommend a mix, and we will explain the choice for your house.

Policies typically cover the resulting water damage but not the failed pipe itself. We document everything with photos and written findings so your adjuster has what they need.
